I've now known Matthew on the outside as long as I did while he was in my belly. Happy 10 months to my precious little boy (6-24-13)! I can't believe I will have a one year old in just 2 short months. Matthew is really starting show his personality and I LOVE it! Now that he is mobile, life is completely different. I am so very thankful for my little busy body - and I'm thankful to be on summer break so I can enjoy this time with him.
~ Since we don't go back to Dr. B until you turn one, these measurements are estimates. You weigh about 22 lbs and are about 29 inches long. I can tell that you've gotten longer :-)
~ You're still in size 3 diapers during the day and size 4 at night. As for clothes, you are in 9 month and 6-12 month. The 9 month shorts are still a little big, so we'll get a lot of wear out of them.
~ Not much has changed with your eating schedule. You're still taking a bottle of 8 oz of formula four times a day - we're trying out the sippy cup with either formula or water, so far, not a fan. You get one serving of fruits and vegetables each day and 1-2 Mum Mums. New foods this month are blueberries and peaches. You seem to like both.
~ You had another fever virus in early June. I got a call from daycare saying you had a fever of 101.4 and by the time I got you to the doctor, it was 103.8. You felt SO hot and just slept on my shoulder. Mommy was so worried! Thankfully, your fever did not get higher than 101 for the rest of the weekend and then you were good to go.
~ After you started crawling everywhere, you began opening/closing drawers and cabinets. Your favorites are the kitchen drawers with my cloth napkins and the cabinets on the entertainment unit. You like taking the DVDs/CDs out, as well as the toys we've put in one on the cabinets. Of course, we've had to put safety locks on many of the cabinets - which, of course, you like to play with :-) Rearranging furniture has also become a favorite thing. You're like your daddy in that you try to figure out how an object can fit best into a certain amount of space.
~ You're now pulling up to your feet on everything - couches, chairs, dressers, our legs, toys, etc! You get so proud of your self when you get up, it's so cute! You've also become good at getting back to a sitting position without completely falling over. It's so fun to see you really thinking about how to get back down. We had to lower your crib to the middle setting so you wouldn't fall out. Plus, being able to stand in your crib and look out as much as you could began to interrupt your nap times. I would have to go in 4-5 times to lay you back down, but you were just so happy that you were standing up that you wouldn't sleep.
~ Now that you are pulling up to your feet, you are also cruising from place to place. It started with you going from the couch to me or your daddy, but now you are pushing your activity table across the living room! You are also pushing your dump truck across the room. Again, you get so proud of yourself and your face lights up when you've reached your destination.
~ While you're in the kitchen with mommy and daddy, you love to get in the refrigerator and dish washer. You've come close to getting on top of the dish washer door the other day. I'm not sure what you find so fascinating about the refrigerator, but as soon as we open it, you smile and hurry to get a look inside. I guess you like all of the bright colors of the food.
~ You went to the beach for the first time in early June. While you weren't sure about the ocean or sand, you still had a great time. You did such a great job for your first big vacation!
~ Your separation anxiety has gotten worse since I've been home more. It just breaks my heart when we drop you off in the nursery at church and you cry and cry. I promise, we are coming back for you :-)
~ You just started pointing and it's adorable!
~ Favorite books: That's Not My Dinosaur, The Itsy Bitsy Spider (you will get the book when I start singing the song), Baby Farm Animals, and If I Were a Puppy. You've started "reading" which makes me smile. You will flip through your books and talk away like you're telling the story.
~ Favorite toys: activity table, dump truck, microphone, ring tower, and rattles.
~ Dislikes: diaper or clothes change, bath time (especially washing your hair), and having to wait for food.
Watching the fan - he is still mesmerized by it
Mommy loves you sweet Matthew! I'm absolutely obsessed with this stage and can't wait to see what you learn how to do next. I can't say it enough, but I am one blessed momma!
