27 Weeks

How far along: 27 Weeks
Baby's size: a head of cauliflower - baby boy weighs about 2 pounds and is about 14.5 inches long!
Maternity clothes: yes
Sleep: it's getting better - sleeping really hard, but waking up early
Best moment this week: hearing baby boy's heartbeat at our appointment today - such a sweet thing to hear!  They also measured me for the first time, and I'm measuring at 28 weeks.  Another great moment - my mom and dad came by this evening to surprise us with our Chicco travel system!!!  We're putting it together soon - love you mom and dad!!!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach, bending over with ease, getting in bed like a normal person
Movement: oh yes - he found my ribs earlier this week
Food cravings: anything cold
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY!
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, major clumsy moments (spilled my lunch today), heartburn, leg cramps, ankle swelling (sporting cankles)

Looking forward to: school being out so I can focus 100% on getting ready for this little guy

26 Weeks

This week has been amazing so far!  Not only did I have Monday off work for my birthday, but I was surprised at school today with a baby shower from my students and their parents.  This came after a week of treats from PTA in honor of teacher appreciation week.  Needless to say, I have been spoiled!  

After lunch today, a coworker asked me to come help her with some things in her room.  During this time, my students and parents were setting up in my classroom for the shower.  As I walked back into dark, empty classroom all of my students jumped up from under their desks and ran to give me a huge hug - so sweet!  They were all so excited!  We had cake, fruit, and punch while I opened gifts.  I feel so blessed to have such amazing students and parents!

This is a picture of all the gifts from the shower today - I told ya, spoiled!  My students have been so excited about Mike and I expecting a baby boy.  The sign hanging on the wall has all of their signatures on it.

I had to take closer up pictures because they got such cute things for baby boy.  They even got him his first Razorback onsies!  Mike got his corn popper and several of the dinosaur gowns, bibs, and burp cloths :-)

And here is the other half - tones of diapers and wipes!  Plus, an adorable diaper bag!

See what I mean - such amazing students and parents!  To top the day off, my coworkers/best friends took me for ice cream and a pedicure for my birthday after school - love them!  Even though I don't have a belly pic for this week, I'll, again, leave you with my stats.

Baby's size: an English hothouse cucumber - baby boy weighs about 1 2/3 pounds and is about 14 inches long!
Maternity clothes: yes
Sleep: eh - I'm now waking up at midnight and 3 to go to the bathroom every night
Best moment this week: too many to count - birthday (he was moving around excitedly this day), surprise baby shower, pedicures, and the arrival of the crib bedding fabric!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach - getting out of bed with ease (I know this will get worse)
Movement: He has been practicing his soccer skills :-)
Food cravings: anything cold

25 Weeks & Baby Shower

All I can say is that it has been a LONG week!  With only 15 days of school left, I have been busy assessing, grading, and everything else that comes with the end of the year.  I have also been working on diaper cakes for 2 of my coworkers.  We had a combined shower at work Thursday and I wanted the diaper cakes to be perfect - they are my best ones yet!  After the shower, Mike and I had a Newborn Care class at Baptist.  We learned all about diapering, bathing, swaddling, and more.  It definitely made us even more excited to meet this little guy!!  We also bought our crib Thursday and picked it up today!!!  It's huge box is now taking up space in our dining room.  I can't wait to have the nursery painted and carpets cleaned so we can put it together!  

Since I've busy, I have not been able to take a 25 week belly pic, so I'll just use the pictures from the shower.

24 Weeks

Baby's size: Ear of corn - baby boy weighs just over a pound and is almost 1 foot long!

Sleep: great until I get leg cramps

Movement: He has been extremely active this week!

I hope that Mike and I can settle on a name soon so I don't have refer to him as baby boy or little man.  It's definitely a work in progress, but I will share once we've chosen a name.  Hope everyone has a great week - can't believe it's almost May!

23 Weeks

Man time is flying! I did not have time to update my chalkboard so you'll have to settle for just a picture. I've been busy this week with hosting community group, registering with friends, and hanging out with my BFF's Laura and Lena!! Anyways - here is my weekly update :-)

How far along: 23 weeks and 1 day
Baby's size: large mango - just over 1 pound and more than 11 inches long
Maternity clothes: yep - just bought a new shirt at Gap today (plus 2 things for baby of course)
Sleep: off and on
Best moment this week: Getting to hear his precious heartbeat today - what a blessing!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach and bending over with ease
Movement: I'm feeling him more and more - can't wait for Mike to be able to feel him!
Food cravings: ice cream
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY!

22 Weeks & Nursery

I don't have a picture this week, but wanted to go ahead and do my stats. Plus, I've included some fabric samples that will be used in the nursery - enjoy!!!

How far along: 22 weeks and 3 days
Baby's size: spaghetti squash (or a Ken doll) - about 1 pound and around 11 inches long (I do wonder if he is still measuring early???)
Maternity clothes: yep
Sleep: much better - sleeping really hard
Best moment this week: Continuing to add to our registry - much harder than a wedding registry!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach
Movement: I've been feeling him more throughout the day and am about 95% sure I felt a kick!
Food cravings: nothing specific, but I've been more hungry
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY!
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, major clumsy moments, sciatica
Belly button in or out: in
Wedding rings on or off: on, but the hotter it gets, the more snug my ring gets :-(

Looking forward to: ordering his crib and finalizing crib bedding. I also get to go with my 2 friends/coworkers to help them register this week!

Now on to the nursery fabrics. I found a picture online here that led to the fabric and colors. I had already planned on painting the nursery gray, so it was a bonus that this nursery had the same color! All I have to do now is determine how much of each fabric I need and order. My mom and mother-in-law are going to help make different parts of his nursery :-)

I will also be using orange as an accent color - I just don't have a picture of that (we all know what orange looks like, right?)

I will continue to update about our nursery progress as soon as we finish our kitchen.

21 Weeks

We are passed the half-way point - crazy!! With only 18 weeks to go, Mike and I have kicked it into gear to get ready for our little boy. We spent the weekend registering, finalizing crib selection, and spending time with family for Easter. I felt overwhelmingly blessed while celebrating the resurrection of Christ this morning! What a great way to start a tough week of testing :-)

How far along: 21 weeks and 4 days
Baby's size: a carrot or banana - about 3/4 of a pound and 10.5 inches long
Maternity clothes: yep
Sleep: pretty good - still waking up a few times a night
Best moment this week: registering with Mike - so much fun figuring out what we want for our son
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach
Movement: typically before I go to sleep - still wanting to feel a true kick (I'm ready to actually know exactly what I'm feeling)
Food cravings: nothing specific, but I've been more hungry
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
