24 Weeks

Alrighty, I'm back on track!  Here we are at 24 weeks - how did we get this far along so quickly???  We only have 16 weeks to go!  We went for our 24 week appointment yesterday and Baby Boy's heartbeat was still strong and still around 140.  They also started measuring my belly, and all is well there.  While there, I got to take the loverly glucola test.  The drink still wasn't terrible, however, I didn't pass this time :-(  I passed with Matthew, so this was new territory for me.  My level needed to be below 140 and it was 147 - so close!  I have to go back on the 14th for the 3 hour test where I drink an even stronger drink and get pricked every hour.  If I don't pass 3 out of the 4, then I guess we'll have to discuss gestational diabetes - I'm a little terrified to be honest.  I'm hoping that since my level wasn't too much over, I can pass the next test.  Prayers are very much appreciated!

Either Mike's angle was a little different or my stomach has gotten big enough to block my legs

How far along: 24 weeks
Baby's size: an ear of corn - baby is about a foot long (head to heel) and you weigh just over a pound.
Maternity clothes: definitely in pants, but I switch out in shirts
Sleep: Now that I'm not dealing with congestion, I've been sleeping better!
Best moment this week: hearing little boy's heartbeat!  Never gets old!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach, bending over or sitting/standing comfortably
Movement: Mike finally felt him kick and spin around - he loved it!!!
Food cravings: ice cream
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing specific
Gender:  it's a BOY!!  Still working on a name for Little Man.
Labor signs: nope - started feeling very mild braxton hicks
Symptoms: siatica and heartburn still, but other than that I feel great!
Belly button in or out: in, but I can tell it's moving out.  I'll be shocked if it pops out because it never did with Matthew
Wedding rings on or off: on
Happy or moody most of the time: pretty good most days
Looking forward to: my girls' weekend in Hot Springs!  We are also starting to work on clearing out what is now Mike's office so we can turn it in to the nursery.

23 Weeks

And, I've successfully gotten behind on posting.  I've been trying for every 2 weeks, but was too busy packing for Florida last week.  That being said, I'm moving on to 23 weeks, and will resume next week.

How far along: 23 weeks and 2 days
Baby's size: a large mango - baby is about 11 inches long (head to heel) and you weigh just over a pound.
Maternity clothes: definitely in pants, but I switch out in shirts
Sleep:being out of town meant a week of not good sleep on a hard bed, but I got great sleep last night.  Still waking up with hip pain from having to sleep on my sides.
Best moment this week: spending time with family in Florida and making memories with Matthew!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach - it's my go-to for comfort
Movement: Little Man has been kicking like crazy, and the kicks/elbows are getting bigger every day!  It's gotten to the point where I can feel the kicks from the outside, but Mike is still waiting to feel them.
Food cravings: meat or just junk food (terrible) - I've heard that's a sign of a boy when you eat like a growing teenage boy.  It's definitely gotten to that point (and the point where I never feel full).
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing specific
Gender:  it's a BOY!!  Still working on a name for Little Man.
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: siatica and heartburn still, but other than that I feel great!
Belly button in or out: in, but I can tell it's moving out.  I'll be shocked if it pops out because it never did with Matthew
Wedding rings on or off: on
Happy or moody most of the time: pretty good most days apart from the stress of traveling.
Looking forward to: We go back to the doctor for our 24 week appt on Wednesday and I'm so looking forward to hearing that precious heartbeat again!  Not looking forward to the glucola test though.

20 Weeks

We have made it to the half way point!!!  The countdown is officially on!!!  This week has been a whirlwind of emotions - family friends in the hospital, a death in the family, and finding out the gender of this precious baby.  While there have been a lot of downs this week, the major high point was finding out that we are expecting a baby BOY!!!  I'm now 2-0 on guessing the gender, but who's keeping count (ME!).  I was able to take the whole day off so I could relax and prepare for the gender reveal that night.  We had to wait for 30 extra minutes to get an ultrasound because the clinic had been closed 2 days previous due to major winter weather.  I absolutely adore the ultrasound tech at my clinic!  She always remembers me because we have little ones that are 1 month apart.

I went in guessing boy, but had been going back and forth this whole time.  I really didn't have a preference, so when I hear/saw the heartbeat everything else went out the window.  All I cared about was a healthy baby, and praise the Lord, that's what we've got!  As she looked for the gender, she paused on a blurry image and said, "Looks like you're having another boy"!  Mike and I had to have her point out what she was seeing, which was completely different from Matthew's ultrasound.  This little boy was in a funky position and wouldn't keep still (does this mean we're gonna have our hands full with baby #2???).  She found several different angles to prove to Mike that she was 100% sure it was a boy.  Needless to day, we are beyond thrilled to have another little boy, and for Matthew to have a little brother!

How far along: 20 weeks
Baby's size: a banana - baby is about 6.5 inches long (head to rump) and about 10 inches (head to heel).  You weigh about 10.5 oz
Maternity clothes: sometimes
Sleep: it's been much better.  I still, occasionally, waking up from hip pain.
Best moment this week: Seeing little bit again (and for the last time before delivery) and knowing that he is healthy!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach and being able to make it without a nap
Movement: been feeling lots of little kicks!
Food cravings: been craving sweets like crazy
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing specific
Gender:  it's a BOY!!
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: siatica (on a daily basis - boo!), and heart burn
Belly button in or out: in, but I can tell it's moving out.  I'll be shocked if it pops out because it never did with Matthew
Wedding rings on or off: on
Happy or moody most of the time: very up and down with the week we've had - there have been lots of tears and anxious moments
Looking forward to: Figuring out a name for this little boy and really starting to work on M's big boy room!

Here's to the next 20 weeks!

Blue or Pink???

In honor of us finding out if baby #2 is a boy or girl tomorrow, I've decided to post some Old Wives Tales just for fun (I stole borrowed this list from my SIL's blog from her first pregnancy)!  Our appointment is at 10 am, but we aren't revealing until dinner tomorrow night.  I will share all the details later!  I've colored the ones that are true to this pregnancy...enjoy!

  • Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
  • Your urine is bright yellow in color (gross!)
  • Your nose is spreading
  • You are having headaches
  • You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number

It's a girl if:
  • You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
  • Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute
  • You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
  • Your left breast is larger than your right breast
  • Your hair develops red highlights
  • You are carrying high
  • Your belly looks like a watermelon

  • You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
  • Your face breaks out more than usual
  • You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread - I never did anyways
  • Your breasts have really blossomed!
  • Your pillow faces south when you sleep
  • Your urine is a dull yellow color
  • You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number

18 Weeks

Time sure is flying by!  I can't believe we are almost to the halfway point.  Some days I still can't believed that we will be a family of 4 at the end of the summer.  I absolutely love the time that I have with Matthew, and it's hard to picture having time for baby #2.  I know a lot of moms think this when adding a new one to the family, and all works out just fine.  It'll be amazing to feel how much love I have for my two little ones.

How far along: 18 weeks and 4 days
Baby's size: a bell pepper - baby is about 5.5 inches long (head to rump) and weighs about 7 oz
Maternity clothes: sometimes - but only pants.  I just did a large load of laundry of maternity clothes to prepare to my growing belly.
Sleep: it's been much better.  I still, occasionally, waking up from hip pain.
Best moment this week: spending quality time with Matthew at the zoo and thinking about adding #2 to that trip :-)
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach and being able to make it without a nap
Movement: still feeling flutters and flips here and there.  Ready to feel the kicks!!
Food cravings: been craving sweets like crazy
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing specific - sometimes I just feel sick after eating (potatoes especially).
Gender:  8 more days and we'll know GIRL or BOY!!
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: siatica (on a daily basis - boo!), heart burn, and mild nausea (again :-/)
Belly button in or out: in, but I can tell it's moving out.  I'll be shocked if it pops out because it never did with Matthew
Wedding rings on or off: on
Happy or moody most of the time: been in better spirits since my energy is back up!
Looking forward to: planning the gender reveal for family & friends!!!  Also, getting this blog updated with what we've been up to lately.

16 Weeks

How am I already 16 weeks???  It seems like this pregnancy is already going so fast, but I know that there will come a time that that won't be the case (especially if I'm 9 days late again).  We had out appointment today, and to say that I was anxious is an understatement.  I have been more nervous this time around compared to when I was pregnant with M.  I think it's from how much I spotted early on, but I am trying hard to just have faith.  I am getting so very excited to find out who will be joining our family in July - a little bro or little sis for Matthew???  Thankfully, I only have to wait until March 5th to find out (insert giddy laughter).

I did not plan to have on the same outfit as the 14 week pic

How far along: 16 weeks
Baby's size: an avocado - baby is about 4.5 inches long (head to rump) and weighs about 3.5 oz
Maternity clothes: sometimes - but only pants
Sleep:  it's been a little better - although some nights the congestion I've had for the past month keeps me up.
Best moment this week: hearing that precious heartbeat again!!!  M went with us this time which made it even more special!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach
Movement: I had a small freakout session with Mike last week because I hadn't felt the baby move much.  Well that all changed the other night - my bed time is apparently baby's party time.  I've had a big smile on my face going to bed feeling the little somersaults - my fave part of being pregnant!
Food cravings: orange juice, fruit, cheese dip, cheeseburger (weird, but that's all I've wanted the past few days)
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing specific, just certain smells
Gender:  we will find out March 5th!!!
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: thankfully the not-so-fun 1st trimester symptoms seem to be behind me (YAY!).  Now I've just had siatica and congestion.  I've been dealing with dizzy spells, but am not sure yet if it's pregnancy related.
Belly button in or out: in - it never went out with Matthew
Wedding rings on or off: on
Happy or moody most of the time: been in better spirits since my energy is back up!
Looking forward to: planning the gender reveal for family & friends!!!

14 Weeks

Let the belly posts begin!  I've decided to go a different route with the angle of the pics this time around.  My goal is to get Matthew to stand under me with the chalkboard, but he won't cooperate right now.  Here's to round #2!

How far along: 14 weeks
Baby's size: a lemon - baby is about 3.5 inches long and weighs about 1.5 oz
Maternity clothes: I am wearing maternity jeans in the pic, but it's not a necessity yet.
Sleep: hit and miss - between frequent bathroom breaks and Mike's snoring, I'm awake more than I want to be.
Best moment this week: We've started reading Matthew's Big Brother book & he loves it!  He likes to point out the baby on each page.
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach and having a normal appetite
Movement: I'm pretty sure I've felt movement a few times - can't wait to feel the big kicks!
Food cravings: orange juice, fruit, cheese dip
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing specific, just certain smells
Gender:  Don't know yet, but should find out in a little over a month.  I've gone back & forth about what I think we're having, but can't make up my mind.  I've had 2 dreams that it's a girl and 1 that it's a boy - who knows!  I'll be happy with either!!!
Labor signs: nope
Symptoms: morning sickness (BOO!), exhaustion, headaches, and siatica
Belly button in or out: in - it never went out with Matthew
Wedding rings on or off: on
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but the exhaustion & hormones cause mood swings.
Looking forward to: Our 16 week appointment so I can hear that precious heartbeat again!

41 Weeks

With everything that has happened over the last 6 weeks, I would never have imagined I'd still be pregnant right now.  At our appointment on Monday, the doctor was even surprised when he checked me and I was 6 cm - and still no baby.  Apparently I've provided a very comfy home for Matthew and it's hard for him to leave.  I haven't gone back to work, so I've now lost a weeks worth of sick days without having a baby to take care of :-(  However, I am enjoying sleeping in and spending my days with Mike!

In order to coax this little boy out, Mike and I have been walking on a daily basis.  I still can't go too far because my ankles/feet swell quickly, but I do my best.  I've also been eating spicy foods and bouncing around on my exercise ball.  We do finally have an induction date - Monday the 27th at 7 am!  I will be 12 days passed my due date if he stays in until then.  I went ahead and scheduled to be induced because at our last appointment, the doctor said if the babies head gets any bigger, I would have to have a c-section :-(  I'm still praying that he comes on his own terms (until Monday that is).  We are beyond ready to meet Matthew and bring him home!

How far along: 41 weeks
Baby's size: a pumpkin - Matthew weighs about 8 pounds and is just over 20 inches long!
Maternity clothes: always
Sleep: on and off - I've started getting up every hour, then gradually getting up every 2-3 hours so sleep is very sporatic.
Best moment this week: Of course hearing his heartbeat Monday and finally getting a date to induce.  It's nice knowing that this waiting game is close to being over with.
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach, being able to do simple tasks without getting exhausted, just feeling comfortable, not feeling pain somewhere every time I move
Movement: He's still kicking and stretching!
Food cravings: anything cold, water, chocolate milk
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY - Matthew David Fleisher
Labor signs: more frequent and stronger Braxton Hicks - I was checked again this week, and am now 6 cm and 90% effaced!  I've had more cramping this week, but still nothing regular.
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, fatigue, hip pain
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: I'm still emotional, but also a little frustrated at this point.  I just don't understand what is taking him so long to join us.  I keep telling myself that the Lord has a plan - can't wait to know what that plan is.
Looking forward to: Matthew's arrival!  I can't wait to hold and love on him :-)

40 Weeks

Well, we've made it to 40 weeks and still no baby.  I can say that the hope of Matthew coming early based on me being so progressed from 35 weeks on has been broken.  It's honestly a little disappointing since I had so many people telling me he would come early.  I've basically just been sitting around waiting to feel my first contraction for the past month.  While I'm almost halfway dilated, this sense of false hope has made the last few weeks extremely emotional.  I was looking forward to having my baby at home once teachers started back to work and getting some extra time with him.  Now, I'm wasting sick days not going to professional development instead of loving on my baby.  Having people constantly text or call me asking if I've had him yet has gotten old.  Feeling bad to call family for any reason because I can hear the excitement in their voice thinking "It's Time", only to carry on a normal conversation.

With all that said, I am still so looking forward to meeting this little boy.  I keep telling myself whenever I feel down (everything from the previous paragraph) that the Lord has a plan that is so much bigger and better than I can even imagine.  He has proven that to me in the past, and He is proving it now.  I know I'm only frustrated because MY plan is not working out.  I want Matthew to come when he is ready and that is when the Lord has planned for him to come.  We will be excited no matter what.  My prayer now is that I don't have to be induced.  I know it's a safe process, but I want Matthew's arrival to be as natural as possible (no, that doesn't mean I won't get an epidural - if I need one, I will be asking/begging for it).  I'm telling myself to use this time to spend with Mike before we are no longer just 2.  We go back in on Monday and that is when we will discuss the need to induce.

Okay, enough complaining.  Here are my stats:

How far along: 40 weeks and 1 day
Baby's size: a small pumpkin - Matthew weighs about 7.5 pounds and is about 20 inches long!
Maternity clothes: always
Sleep: on and off - getting up again every 2 hours and will typically stay up for about an hour at some point in the middle of the night (watching a lot of paid programming).
Best moment this week: hearing Matthew's strong heartbeat at our appointment Wednesday!  Spending quality time with Mike.
Labor signs: more frequent and stronger Braxton Hicks - I was checked again this week, and am now 4.5 cm and 90% effaced!  I've learned not to get my hopes up that this means he's coming.
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, fatigue, major hunger, hip pain, nose bleeds (again, ugh)
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: I have been way more emotional this week.  It definitely did not help to have my due date come and go without a baby :-(
Looking forward to: Matthew's arrival!  I can't wait to hold and love on him :-)

39 Weeks

Still no baby.  We are anxiously waiting for him to make his BIG DEBUT!!!  We had a great appointment this week and will begin discussing induction at my 40 week appointment next Wednesday (unless he decides to come before then).  I pray that he is able to come naturally and that I don't have to be induced.  I pray everyday for patience and remind myself that God's plan is so much better than mine.  He knows exactly when this little boy will show up :-)

This is from Week 19 when we found out we were having a boy.  It is also the last time we got to see this precious baby, so we have been waiting a long time to see him again.

How far along: 39 weeks and 3 days
Baby's size: a mini watermelon - Matthew weighs about 7 pounds and is about 20 inches long!
Maternity clothes: always
Sleep: on and off - with the Olympics being on until 11 each night, I've been staying up way late which makes my sleep pattern even worse.  I have been taking a lot of naps during the day :-)
Best moment this week: hearing Matthew's strong heartbeat at our appointment Wednesday!  Spending quality time with Mike.
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach, being able to do simple tasks without getting exhausted, cold weather (not pregnancy related - but this extreme heat is not my friend), just feeling comfortable
Movement: He's still kicking and stretching!
Food cravings: anything cold, water, chocolate milk
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY - Matthew David Fleisher
Labor signs: more frequent and stronger Braxton Hicks - I was checked again this week, and am now 4 cm and 90% effaced!  Lets go Matthew!!
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, fatigue, major hunger, hip pain, nose bleeds (again, ugh)
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: I have actually had a peace this last week.  I feel like I should be freaking out or running around cleaning compulsively.  Mike has even been surprisingly calm (he is just worrying about changing diapers).
Looking forward to: Matthew's arrival!  I can't wait to hold and love on him :-)

38 Weeks

38 Weeks down, 2 to go!  I know I say this every time, but time is flying by.  I thought my summer would go by slowly, especially since I don't have to go to work, but it's the exact opposite.  I try to keep myself as busy as possible so I don't dwell on the upcoming weeks, but we have everything ready to go.  There's not much for me to do, except wait.  At least I have the Olympics to help me pass the time :-)  I can only clean the same thing so many times.  While I don't have a picture, I'll still give my stats (for those that actually read it).

How far along: 38 weeks and 1 day
Baby's size: a leek - Matthew weighs about 6.8 pounds and is over 19.5 inches long!
Maternity clothes: always
Sleep: on and off - as each new day passes, it gets harder and harder to get comfortable laying down
Best moment this week: hearing Matthew's strong heartbeat at our appointment today!
Labor signs: more frequent and stronger Braxton Hicks - I was checked again this week, and am still 80% effaced and 3-4 cm dilated.  I must admit, it's been hard being this dilated and effaced since 35 weeks because I've felt like he could come any minute for the passed 3 weeks.  I can't complain that I've made progress without the pain, but I almost feel like it makes the anxiety a little worse.
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, fatigue, major hunger, hip pain
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: nervous/excited anxiety - I am so ready to meet this little boy
Looking forward to: spending as much time with Mike and family as I can before our family becomes 3 - we are all anxiously awaiting your arrival Matthew!!!

On a separate note - with football season right around the corner, Matthew is definitely ready!  He will be able to cheer on the Razorbacks, Green Bay, and the Badgers (for his daddy)!

36 Weeks

I can't believe we have 4 weeks (technically now it's 3.5) until our due date - CRAZY!!!  With not much time left, I have been busy in the nursery, around the house, and at school preparing for my sub.  That being said, I do not have a picture this week.  To give you an idea, I'm huge and I think he's dropped - it's hard to tell having such a small torso.  Here are my stats:

How far along: 36 weeks and 4 days
Baby's size: a crenshaw melon - Matthew weighs about 6 pounds and is over 18.5 inches long!
Maternity clothes: always
Sleep: still on my up every 2 hours routine - typically on the 4 am rotation, I stay awake until 5:30 or so
Best moment this week: Since I'm now on my weekly appointments, we got to hear his strong heartbeat again!  This hasn't happened yet, but we are almost finished with the nursery (apart from pictures of Matthew).
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach, being able to do simple tasks without getting exhausted, cold weather (not pregnancy related - but this extreme heat is not my friend)
Movement: He's still kicking and stretching!
Food cravings: anything cold, water, chocolate milk
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY - Matthew David Fleisher
Labor signs: more frequent and stronger Braxton Hicks - I was checked again this week, and am still 80% effaced and 3 cm dilated.  The doctor said he could stretch to 4, but wanted to keep me at 3.
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, siatica, fatigue, major hunger
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: nervous/excited anxiety - I find myself constantly thinking about what's to come and how much life is going to change
Looking forward to: finishing the nursery and finishing my sub plans - it is not easy planning for a random person to come in at the beginning of school year and teach my students all of the necessary routines and procedures correctly.  I must say I had a ton of help from my dad, aunt, and granddad in getting my classroom set up/organized - I didn't have to lift a finger :-)

As soon as the nursery is finished, I will post pics!!!

Best moment this week: The BEST part was hearing his little heartbeat today!  Still very strong!  Also, we have made much progress in the nursery - glider, shelves, sign over crib, and a plan for the reading area!!!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach, being able to do simple tasks without getting exhausted, cold weather (not pregnancy related - but this extreme heat is not my friend)
Movement: He's still kicking and stretching!
Food cravings: anything cold and water
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY - Matthew David Fleisher
Labor signs: Braxton Hicks - I was checked for the first time today, and was surprised to hear that I'm 2-3 cm dilated and 80% effaced
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, siatica, fatigue, major hunger
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: Getting anxious - we're in the home stretch!
Looking forward to: finishing the nursery

Name Reveal!

I am excited to announce that I will no longer be referring to baby Fleisher as "little guy" or "little man".  We have officially settled on a name and I couldn't be more happy with it!  It's the name I had liked since finding out we were having a boy.  Baby Boy Fleisher's name is

Matthew David Fleisher

I've always liked traditional names, so this fits perfectly!  With what Mike and I went through last August, I definitely wanted to choose a name with a significant meaning.

Matthew means "Gift of God" - this little boy is truly a gift of God that I am beyond thankful for!
David was chosen because it is my dad's first name (it also happens to be Mike's middle name).

I love that Mike and Matthew will have the same initials - MDF - especially since Mike was rooting for Mike Jr.  At least they have this in common :-)

We cannot wait to meet you Matthew!  With only 5 weeks until your due date (as of tomorrow), we know we will meet you soon!

34 Weeks

34 weeks down, 6 to go!  It's been a nice, relaxing week - apart from the ridiculous heat.  I'm pretty much just staying inside and only getting out if I have to.  It's to the point where it's pointless to really fix my hair or put on makeup, because everything gets messed up right when I get in the heat.  Needless to say, I'm not fixing myself up as much.

We had a great 4th of July, celebrating with my parents and the neighbors I grew up with.  It was so nice to grill out and catch up with old friends.  Unfortunately, with the burn ban, we couldn't shoot off fireworks - oh well.

I am happy to say that I have now met all 4 of the OBGYN's that could possibly be on-call when this little boy decides to join us!  Mike and I agree that we will be happy with any of the 4 because they have all been wonderful.  It's still crazy to think that we will (hopefully) meet this little guy within the next 6 weeks.  Time has started flying by!

How far along: 34 Weeks
Baby's size: a cantaloupe - baby boy weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is about 18 inches long!
Maternity clothes: always
Sleep: off and on - I'm starting to notice more fatigue throughout the day as well
Best moment this week: We finally got the dresser/changing table in the nursery!  My parents just dropped of the curtains, so we'll get those up tonight.  It's fun seeing it all come together, even though I have a long way to go.
Gender: BOY - I promise I will announce the name soon
Labor signs: nope, but still having braxton hicks
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, siatica, fatigue, major hunger
Belly button in or out: in - it's really only enclosing, not moving out
Wedding rings on or off: off - again, stupid heat
Happy or moody most of the time: Getting anxious - need to get the nursery finished, preparing for the hospital, preparing for bringing him home, cleaning the house, etc.
Looking forward to: My family shower tomorrow night

Baby Shower

Two weeks ago, I was blessed to have an amazing shower with family and friends.  I was completely overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone.  They truly helped us prepare for this little guy's impending arrival!  Here are a few pictures snapped by my sister-in-law:

Our Baby Bjorn from Hannah!

Having fun with 2 of my besties Lena and Katie

Opening my bedding from my mother-in-law!  Love it!

Precious clothes - I know people say it's more fun to shop for baby girls, but this little guy has some adorable outfits!

A bin full of baby goodies from the Massey girls - all kinds of new baby and mommy essentials!

Loved getting to see sweet family friends

With my sister-in-law and mother-in-law

Shower gifts

More shower gifts

On another note, I do have the crib ready to go and will share pictures soon.  It looks amazing!!!

32 Weeks

I've officially hit the 2 month mark.  That is, 2 months until my due date!  It's crazy to think that we could meet this little guy in 2 months.  The more I work in the nursery, the more excited I get to bring him home and let him see all the hard work.  Of course, he won't care :-)

I am looking forward to next Wednesday because all of my summer obligation will be completed and I can truly focus on getting ready for Little Boy.  I'll still have to get lesson plans and my classroom ready for maternity leave, but that shouldn't take too long - crossing my fingers!

31 Weeks

What a week!  I have barely had time to sit and relax this week.  On Monday, Mike and I spent the day together for his birthday.  We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, then to Lowe's for materials to finish the many projects around the house.  That night, we had our childbirthing class.  We toured the labor and deliver wing of Baptist which made everything more real.

On Thursday, we had our 31 week appointment.  We got to hear his precious heartbeat - love!!  He is still measuring 1 to 1.5 weeks early (32.5 weeks).  Mike and I also had our maternity pictures taken with Cauley Photography on Thursday.  I can't wait to see the finished products!!

I've also been meeting friends to finalize plans for our 10 year high school reunion and STARS training.  Our reunion started last night at the Thea Foundation and we had a great turn out!  Had I not been up since 4 am, I wouldn't have been as exhausted.  The festivities continued this afternoon and evening - it's been great seeing people I haven't seen in 10 years!

This morning, I had an amazing baby shower hosted by some wonderful women!!  I feel so very blessed to have such great family and friends help us prepare for this little guy.  Now I get to start sorting through all of his goodies and figure out what we still need.  Only 2 months to go!!!

How far along: 31 Weeks
Baby's size: 4 naval oranges - baby boy weighs about 3.3 pounds and is about 16 inches long!
Maternity clothes: yep
Sleep: I'm still waking up every 2 hours, but being able to sleep in makes up for that :-)
Best moment this week: there were so many - great appointment (healthy boy), touring labor and delivery, maternity pics, baby shower
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach
Movement: he's still practicing his soccer skills - now that we know he is head down, we can somewhat determine if he is kicking or stretching with his hands or feet.
Food cravings: anything cold
Anything making you queasy or sick: onions and veggies
Gender: BOY - we may have settled on a name!  Will share as soon as it's official!
Labor signs: no, but have had some braxton hicks
Symptoms: pregnancy brain, heartburn, leg cramps, ankle swelling (sporting cankles), siatica (again), growing pains
Belly button in or out: in - it's starting to move outward
Wedding rings on or off: back on
Happy or moody most of the time: this week has been so hectic that I have been more edgy
Looking forward to: putting his bedding together - my mother-in-law surprised me with it today at the shower and it looks AWESOME!!!  It was the hit of the shower!!!
